TALLULAH FALLS, Ga. – The Piedmont women's cross country team placed third out of seven programs at the 2023 CCS Championship following sophomore
Skyler Seeber's third place performance. Senior
Jaycie Ponce also cracked the Top 10, crossing in 7th.
Seeber's time of 24:52.9 placed her behind CCS Individual Champion Madison Stonestreet and CCS Rookie of the Year Muhorakeye Joyeuse while she was well ahead of the fourth place finisher.
Jaycie Ponce was the only other Lady Lion to place in the Top 10, turning in a time of 26:34.5 for seventh place. Just outside the Top 10 in 11th was
Hannah Marlowe. Coming off a PR performance in the prior meet, she crossed in 27:10.4.
Brhea Covington and
Tanea Davis were the next two Lady Lions to cross. Covington recorded a 31:19.3 in 33rd place while Davis crossed in 37th with a 32:31.4.
Bella Caccamo (34:28.7) and
Victoria Drouin (39:04.2) rounded out the finishers for Piedmont.
Up next, Piedmont travels to Mount Berry, Ga. for the NCAA South Region Championships on Saturday, November 11.
