TACOMA, Wash. - The Piedmont women's soccer team fell to the University of Puget Sound 5-0 in Saturday's contest.
The Lady Lions defense held on for the majority of the first half, but a late corner in the 37
th minute saw the first goal of the game. Off a corner kick, Puget Sound got a pair of touches to a ball swung into the box, with Kalina Cordero finishing the opportunity to move the score line to 1-0.
Following the goal, Piedmont was given zero time to recover as the Loggers forced a turnover off the restart and quickly scored to make the contest 2-0 in the 39
th minute.
Following halftime, the Loggers offense continued to be an issue and in the 58
th minute, a long shot from Ava Cholakian found the back of the net for a 3-0 game. Cholakian would score again once more not even 15 minutes later.
Puget Sound would net one more before the contest was over thanks to Zoe Fowler.
The Lady Lions will return home to Demorest for their next contest on Sept. 9 versus Toccoa Falls College.
