The first set was all Piedmont from the beginning. The Lady Lions won the first five points of the set and never looked back, racing out to a 12-2 lead in the early going and finishing off the set at a dominant 25-9 margin. Sconyers led the way in the first set with four kills. Piedmont had 11 kills overall and held a .257 hitting percentage while holding the Scotties to a -.139 percentage.

Agnes Scott hung tough early on in the first set, leading 8-7 in the early going. However, Piedmont went on a 7-2 scoring run to take a 15-10 lead and never looked back on their way to a 25-15 second set victory. The Lady Lions took advantage of four service aces and 11 attack errors from the Scotties to jump ahead 2-0 in the match.

The Scotties did not go away quietly, as they put up even more of a fight in the third set, battling the Lady Lions until the very end of a competitive third set. After Piedmont took a 19-17 lead late, Agnes Scott clawed its way back in, winning three points in a row to go up 20-19. Piedmont responded, however, with a 6-3 run to end the match, as a kill from BROOKLYN GUNN served as the clinching point.

Up next, the Lady Lions will look to move over .500 in CCS play as they head to Covenant for a tri-match with the Scots and LaGrange.
