LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. - In a rematch of last season's USA South Tournament Title game, the Piedmont women's soccer team battled Covenant to a scoreless draw in Lookout Mountain on Wednesday afternoon.
The contest marked the first for Piedmont athletics in the brand new Collegiate Conference of the South.
After the two teams played a pair of 1-0 defensive battles last season, Wednesday brought more of the same, with the teams combining for just 12 shots and only three being on goal.
Defense dominated throughout as neither team was able to create good scoring chances on the offensive side.
The Scots held an 8-4 shot advantage but only two of their eight shots were on goal.

ABBY JUDGE had the lone shot on goal for the Lady Lions.
Each team tallied a pair of shots in the first half while Covenant held a 6-2 edge in the second half.
Piedmont's four shots were taken by four different players as

ELISSA LOTTER and
MADDY PARRIS also got shots off for the Lady Lions.
Sophomore goalkeeper
HAYLEE DORNAN delivered a second consecutive shutout, saving the only two shots that the Scots put on frame.
Up next, the Lady Lions will look for its first CCS win, as they host new conference foe Belhaven this Saturday, Sept. 24 at 11 a.m.
