AUSTIN, Texas – Piedmont baseball's
CARTER BALLSTADT was named a CoSIDA Academic All-American, the organization announced Wednesday afternoon. Ballstadt earned a spot on the first team listing for Division III as an outfielder.
The senior from Gainesville, Georgia adds this to an already decorated career as the outfielder earned All-Region and All-America honors last week from D3baseball.com and ABCA/Rawlings, respectively.
He becomes the third CoSIDA Academic All-America honoree for Piedmont baseball, joining his brother Brady Ballstadt (2019) and Justin Groover (2018).
Ballstadt led the team in 2022 in several statistical categories including batting average, hits, RBI, runs scored and home runs.
Ballstadt is one of three USA South honorees to earn a spot on the listing as both Covenant and Methodist are represented on the first team listing as well.
Off the field, Ballstadt has been named to the USA South All-Academic Team three times during his career.
The Division III Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division III national governance structure to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2021-22 Division III Academic All-America® program.
