In the eighth, a 2-RBI single for the Panthers cut the deficit to 8-3, but LaGrange was not giving up without a fight. Piedmont faced eight batters in the ninth inning allowing two runs on one hit, but CARTER BALLSTADT was able to record the final out and seal the Lions' victory.
