ORLANDO, Fla. - The Piedmont women's tennis team kept on rolling with a 7-2 victory in Orlando on Tuesday morning against Adrian.

The Lady Lions have won eight straight matches to start the season for the first time in the school's NCAA era.

Piedmont got the morning started off on the right foot, as it cruised to win all three doubles lines.

MAGGIE MOODY and MELISSA GISH cruised to victory at No. 2 while the duo of IMANI VINCENT and ALYSSA MCSPADDEN won 8-4 at No. 1, improving to 4-1 as a team.

The No. 3 team of DAKOTA WILKES and MARION SLOYAN played together for the first time, also winning 8-4 at No. 3.

Singles action brought more Piedmont domination as the Lady Lions took five of the six singles lines and cruised to the victory.

Needing just two lines to win the match, RACHEL MARSH finished up first with a 6-3, 6-1 triumph at No. 3 before TYLER PERRY earned the clincher, with a clinical 6-1, 6-2 victory at No. 6.

Adrian battled back in a few matches but MIA VASHER prevailed for Piedmont, battling through two sets to win 6-4, 6-4 at No. 5. ALLISON DEMPSEY also was forced to a third set, and fell in a third-set breaker 10-6.

Playing No. 1, ABBEY GRACE VENHAM emerged victorious in a hard-fought match, winning a third-set superbreaker 10-5 to make it 8-0 Lady Lions.

The Bulldogs put a point on the board at No. 2, but the damage had been done as the Lady Lions remain unblemished this season.

Up next, Piedmont will conclude its Orlando trip tonight at 6:30 p.m. against St. Mary's Univ. (Minn.).

TURNING POINT:
- Once again, Piedmont grabbed control of the match early, winning all three doubles lines.
