DEMOREST, Ga. - On a day in which it honored four seniors, the Piedmont women's basketball team pulled away from Agnes Scott with a 91-39 victory on Saturday afternoon at Cave Arena.
The Lady Lions took the lead for good midway through the first quarter and never looked back, holding a double digit advantage most of the way.
Senior
BRITTANY DEVANE tallied a career-best 17 points to go with eight rebounds on 8-of-11 shooting. Although DeVane was the only Lady Lion in double figures, 19 of the 20 that played for Piedmont recorded at least two points.
Piedmont was over 50 percent shooting for the game including a red-hot 13-of-17 (76%) in the final quarter.
Agnes Scott battled in the early going, leading 8-6 early in the contest. However, the Lady Lions scored the final seven points of the opening period to build a 21-11 lead heading to the second.
The game was in hand at halftime thanks to an offensive onslaught in the second quarter for Piedmont. The Lady Lions outscored the Scotties 27-9 to go into halftime with a 48-20 advantage.
The second half brought more of the same as the Lady Lions continued to lengthen their lead and put up a game-high 30 points in the final period.
The win marks the team's 12th in a row, with 10 of those wins coming by double digits.
Up next, the Lady Lions will conclude their home regular season slate tomorrow, Feb. 6 at 1 p.m. against Wesleyan.
TURNING POINT:
- Piedmont used a 15-0 run over the end of the first and beginning of the second quarter to build an insurmountable 18-point lead.
STANDOUT PERFORMANCES:
- On a day in which she was honored for Senior Day,
BRITTANY DEVANE led all scorers with 17 points on 8-of-11 shooting while also pulling in a team-best eight rebounds.

BENTLEY CRONIC was second on the team with eight points on 3-of-4 shooting in just nine minutes of action. Cronic knocked down both of Piedmont's two three-pointers for the game.

LU WOOLFOLK helped DeVane get involved early, delivering a team-best five assists.
