DEMOREST, Ga. - In non-conference action on Sunday, the Piedmont University women's basketball team cruised to an 82-36 win over Wesleyan. The Lady Lions saw 12 players score points in the contest led by BENTLEY CRONIC with 13. 

Wesleyan was first on the board leading 4-0 as the Lady Lions missed their first seven shots from the floor. Piedmont picked it up in the final two minutes of the first quarter outscoring Wesleyan 10-0.

In the second quarter, Piedmont outscored the Wolves 24-7 as the Piedmont defense shut down the Wolves' attack. Both EMILY WILEY and ASHLEY SCOTT tallied eight points in the first half as Piedmont led 44-16. 

The third quarter saw Wesleyan make its best effort scoring 13 points but the Lady Lions shut them down in the final quarter allowing just seven points with only one made basket from the floor. 

Up next, the Lady Lions travel to LaGrange to take on the Panthers Wednesday at 6:00 p.m.

TURNING POINT:
--It was a 10-9 contest in the first quarter until a 10-0 run broke open the game with Piedmont leading 20-9 after the first. 

STANDOUT PERFORMANCES:
--BENTLEY CRONIC led the team with 13 points banking a pair of 3-pointers.
--AMYAH WILLIAMS had eight rebounds in the contest to lead the team, marking a career-high for the sophomore.
