DEMOREST, Ga. – Despite an impressive second half rally, the Piedmont men's basketball team came up short in a home contest Tuesday against Covenant 58-52. It was a low-scoring affair as the Piedmont defense held Covenant to just 21 points in the second half.

The Lions trailed by 10 at halftime 37-27 but were able to rally late and claimed the lead 52-50 after a converted and-one opportunity by JORDAN FOOTE with 4:42 to play. That would however be the final basket of the night for the Lions as Piedmont was held scoreless over the final 4:42 of the contest.

Covenant used an 8-0 run over the final stretch to claim the win after having been outscored 25-13 to that point in the second half. The Lions were cruising in the second half after being down by 14 points, using a 21-5 run to put the Lions out in front over a 10 minute stretch.

The Scots were 0-for-12 from the floor during that run with all five points coming from the free throw line. In the final 4:40, it was the Lions who were held scoreless from the floor going 0-for-7 over that stretch.

Will Crumly led all scorers with 18 points and 10 rebounds while Myles Jones made four crucial 3-pointers for the Scots. NOAH REARDON added 14 points while EVAN EASTON led Piedmont with seven rebounds.
