ATLANTA, Ga. - After a tightly contested first half, Berry used a strong second half to down Piedmont 92-53 in the first game of the Emory University Holiday Classic for the Lions. 
It was a back and forth contest early in Atlanta as both teams struggled to maintain the lead. The largest lead gained by either squad in the half was four points.
The Lions and Vikings went to half time tied at 36 a piece. 
RYAN JOLLY, who played 18 of the 20 minutes in the first half, led the Lions in scoring at the break with nine points while shooting 50% from the floor.
Coming out of half, Piedmont battled hard to stay in the contest. However, following the first media time out, Berry pulled away to its largest lead of 11 points.
The Vikings used the momentum to separate for the remainder of the contest, shooting 57% from the floor as a team in the second half. 
Berry kept their foot on the gas all the way to the end, finishing the game with a 92-53 point lead.
Up next, Piedmont takes on Connecticut College on Friday, December 30th at 2 p.m. This will be Piedmont's second and final game of the Emory University Holiday Classic.
