Women's Soccer Earns At-Large Bid to NCAA Tournament

DEMOREST, Ga. - The Piedmont women's soccer team has earned an At-Large bid to the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Tournament, as the field was announced Monday afternoon.

The Lady Lions concluded the regular season in style, capturing the first ever Collegiate Conference of the South Tournament Championship, defeating rival Maryville on their home field Saturday in penalty kicks.

Piedmont, which will enter the tournament with a 12-5-3 record, earned its first At-Large bid in program history as the new CCS does not have an automatic qualifier to its conference champion.

This will mark Piedmont's first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2018, when it won the USA South Tournament Title and faced Lynchburg at the NCAA Tournament.

The Lady Lions are scheduled to take on No. 18 Emory in Atlanta. The game date and time is to be determined.

The teams met in the regular season in Demorest, with the Eagles escaping with a 1-0 wiin thanks to a late second half goal.

OF NOTE:
- This will be the program's sixth NCAA postseason appearance.
