MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Piedmont volleyball team concluded its 2022 season Tuesday in the CCS Quarterfinals falling to No. 3 Huntingdon 3-0. The Hawks were able to win in straight sets and advance to the CCS semifinals. 

The Lady Lions were facing stiff competition as the Hawks have lost just seven matches all season. Huntingdon claimed the win 25-14, 25-15, 25-15. 

In the opening set, Piedmont fell behind 6-1 but was able to claw back to tie the set at 10-10. Over the second half of the first set, the Hawks took control to outscore Piedmont 15-4 to claim the first set 25-14.

The Hawks jumped out to a quick 7-2 lead again in the second set and coasted ahead to a 14-5 advantage. Piedmont kept up the fight to keep it a 25-15 loss in the second before falling by the same score in the third set. 

TURNING POINT:
--Huntingdon held Piedmont to a negative attack percentage for the match. 

STANDOUT PERFORMANCES:
--In the final match of the season, JENNA ASH led Piedmont with eight kills.
