ATLANTA, Ga. - Piedmont senior KAITY HEMPERLY took home Collegiate Conference of the South Defensive Player of the Year honors as the league announced its women's soccer postseason awards Wednesday morning.

Hemperly's honor highlighted seven Lady Lions who made the listing with KAYLEE KING, ABBY JUDGE and SIERRA JUDSON joining Hemperly on the All-CCS First Team while defenders KATY BROWN and ELISSA LOTTER made the second team along with goalkeeper HAYLEE DORNAN.

KAITY HEMPERLY, Defensive Player of the Year, All-CCS First Team (Midfielder)

BY THE NUMBERS:
Points: 7 (T-2nd on team)
Goals: 3 (T-2nd on team)
Assists: 1
Game-Winning Goals: 2 (T-1st on team)
Of Note: Two of her three goals this season were game-winners and served as a defensive midfield anchor for the Lady Lions, who allowed just one goal all season in conference play. Hemperly scored the game-winning goal in Piedmont's 3-0 home win over LaGrange.

 

KAYLEE KING, All-CCS First Team (Forward)

Goals: 6 (Led team)
Assists: 3 (T-1st on team)
Game-Winning Goals: 2 (T-1st on team)
Of Note: King led the team in goals for the third consecutive season and held at least a share of the team lead in assists for the third straight season. Twice this season, the senior scored and had an assist in a conference win for Piedmont and she scored both of Piedmont's goals in a win at Warren Wilson.

ABBY JUDGE, All-CCS First Team (Defender)

BY THE NUMBERS:
Points: 5 
Goals: 2
Assists: 1 
Of Note: Serving as a back-line anchor for the fourth straight season, Judge played a major role in Piedmont's stifling defense in conference play as the Lady Lions allowed just one goal to CCS opponents. She also pitched in on the offensive end, scoring a pair of goals, with both coming on penalty kicks at home.

SIERRA JUDSON, All-CCS First Team (Defender)

Of Note: Mainly serving as a defender, Judson contributed all over the field during her debut season for the Lady Lions. Both of her goals this season came in conference contests, highlighted by the game-winner in the second half of Piedmont's 1-0 home win over Huntingdon.

KATY BROWN, All-CCS Second Team (Defender)

Goals: 1
Of Note: Brown returned for her fifth season in Demorest and made nine starts as a defender, helping to lead a Lady Lions defense that allowed just one goal across Collegiate Conference of the South play. Brown tallied her lone goal of the season in a home-opening shutout win over Toccoa Falls.

 

ELISSA LOTTER, All-CCS Second Team (Defender)

BY THE NUMBERS:
Points: 1
Assists: 1
Of Note: Lotter made 13 starts as a defender for the stout Piedmont defense. The junior from Sharpsburg, Georgia delivered an assist in a 4-0 Piedmont win at Wesleyan. Lotter played a key role in helping the Lady Lions to a share of the CCS Regular Season Title and the No. 1 seed for the upcoming CCS Tournament.

 

HAYLEE DORNAN, All-CCS Second Team (Goalkeeper)

BY THE NUMBERS:
Saves: 81 (Led CCS)
Goals: 0.60 GAA (Led CCS)
Shutouts: 7 (Led CCS)
Of Note: In her first season as the main starter in goal, Dornan delivered a spectacular season, in which she delivered seven shutouts and allowed just one goal in conference play.
