DEMOREST, Ga. - The Piedmont women's soccer team cruised to its fifth consecutive victory, rolling past LaGrange 3-0 on Thursday night at the Walker Athletic Complex.

The Lady Lions scored twice in the early going and added a third goal midway through the second half while blanking the Panthers and holding them to under 10 shots for the contest.

KAYLEE KING led the way, scoring the team's second goal and assisting on the final goal, as VICTORIA SIERRA capped the scoring. Fellow senior KAITY HEMPERLY netted the game-winner off an assist from ANYA OLSON.

It did not take the Lady Lions long to strike, as Hemperly was able to beat the keeper after receiving a short pass from Olson just six minutes into the game.

The lead was quickly extended to 2-0 as ABBY JUDGE curled in a perfect free kick that was shouldered in by King for her team-leading fifth goal of the season.

Piedmont took a 2-0 lead to half and held a 13-4 edge in shots at the break.

The second half was more of a defensive struggle as the Lady Lions substituted frequently with a big conference game looming against Maryville Saturday.

In the 71st minute, it was King's turn to deliver a perfect cross, as she found the foot of Sierra who put away her second goal of the season to put an exclamation point on the evening.

Goalkeeper HAYLEE DORNAN delivered a shutout making six saves.
