GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Piedmont women's soccer team played Greensboro to a scoreless draw on Sunday afternoon in North Carolina.

This marks the team's third draw of the season and is its second scoreless draw on the road in nonconference play. It also is the team's second straight tie after a 2-2 contest at Averett one week ago.

Freshman goalkeeper HAYLEE DORNAN earned the start and made one save, the first career shutout for the Cumming, Georgia native.

Piedmont held a 7-5 shot advantage for the game overall but the Lady Lions totaled six of those in the second half and overtime periods.

The game was a defensive struggle as the teams combined for just three shots on goal with Piedmont holding a 2-1 edge.

HAILEY TIGUE, MADDY PARRIS and EMMA WILLIAMS each tied for the Piedmont lead with two shots apiece.

Tigue and sophomore MADI GALLARELLI had the lone Lady Lion shots on goal.

In earning the draw, Greensboro snapped a three-game losing streak.

Up next, the Lady Lions will host Oglethorpe this Wednesday, Sept. 22 at 7 p.m.

STANDOUT PERFORMANCES:
- The Piedmont defense was stout once again, delivering its third shutout of the season through six contests.

NEWS AND NOTES:
- Piedmont's HAYLEE DORNAN delivered her first career shutout in goal, joining teammates MADI WILSON and LAILA ALLEN, giving the team three different goalkeepers with a shutout this season.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- The Lady Lions held a 6-3 edge in corner kicks this season.
