LaGRANGE, Ga. - The Piedmont women's tennis team completed its USA South season unbeaten with a 9-0 road win over LaGrange on Sunday afternoon.

The Lady Lions lost only six total games across both doubles and singles, not losing more than a single game in any match and completing the match in under two hours.

The win finishes their regular season conference slate at a perfect 7-0. Across those seven matches, Piedmont lost only three total lines all season.

With the Panthers having just five available players, the Lady Lions won at No. 3 doubles by default. Already leading 1-0, Piedmont quickly took care of its matches at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles as MAGGIE MOODY and MEGAN WALDHEIM delivered an 8-1 win at No. 1 before the No. 2 doubles team of KARA LANDSIEDEL and ABBEY GRACE VENHAM did the same.

The domination continued into singles as Piedmont needed just one win to clinch after winning by default at No. 6. The clincher came in the form of a 6-0, 6-0 victory from IMANI VINCENT at No. 1 singles.

With the match already in hand, the Lady Lions quickly took care of the remaining four matches on the court. Moody delivered a 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 3 singles as Waldheim was perfect (6-0, 6-0) at No. 2. Closing out the festivities, Landsiedel (6-0, 6-1) and MELISSA GISH (6-1, 6-0) rolled to complete the sweep.

Piedmont will close out its regular season schedule tomorrow at 4 p.m. with a road match at Johnson University (Tenn.).

The Lady Lions have earned the No. 1 seed in the West Division for the upcoming USA South Championship Tournament and will play host to Huntingdon next Saturday, April 24 at 11 a.m.

NEWS AND NOTES:
- The Lady Lions just completed its third consecutive season undefeated in the USA South.
- Head Coach Trey Martin is now 15-0 in conference play over two seasons of competition as last season saw no league play due to COVID-19.
