DEMOREST, Ga. - The Piedmont women's tennis team continued its dominant play against USA South competition, delivering a 9-0 home sweep of Covenant Wednesday afternoon in nonconference competition.
The Lady Lions swept all three doubles lines in 8-1 fashion before taking each of the six singles matches in straight sets as none of the six dropped more than two games in a single set.
The No. 2 doubles team of 
IMANI VINCENT and 
MELISSA GISH got things started, improving to 11-3 on the season with their win before 
ABBEY GRACE VENHAM and 
KARA LANDSIEDEL won by the same score at No. 3, improving their record as a tandem to 8-2. Finally, the senior duo of 
MEGAN WALDHEIM and 
MAGGIE MOODY delivered their 10th win of the season at No. 1 doubles to give Piedmont a 3-0 lead heading to singles.
The Piedmont onslaught continued into singles as Gish did not drop a single game to put the Lady Lions up 4-0 while fellow freshman Venham clinched the match with a 6-1, 6-1 triumph at No. 2 singles.
Vincent improved to 12-4 at No. 1 singles with a relatively easy two-set win before Landsiedel continued the dominance with a 6-0, 6-2 victory at No. 3.
Playing out the final two matches, freshman 
MARION SLOYAN was perfect in a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 5 delivering her second career singles victory while fellow newcomer 
RACHEL MARSH concluded the festivities, winning 6-1, 6-1, at No. 6 singles.
Up next, the Lady Lions will conclude USA South play, road tripping to LaGrange this Saturday, April 17 at 2 p.m.
