DECATUR, Ga.  – The Piedmont College volleyball team earned a straight-sets win in conference play 3-0 at Agnes Scott Wednesday. The Lady Lions made quick work winning 25-17, 25-9, 25-18. 

Piedmont went on an early run in the first set forcing a Scotties timeout at 5-1. ASC battled back with a run of their own to come within one trailing 8-7, but the Lady Lions gained momentum and used a 10-0 run to build a 22-10 lead. The Scotties rallied but could not overcome the gap in a 25-17 first set. 

The second set was all Piedmont as they claimed a 25-9 win and used that momentum to build an early 9-5 lead in the third set. The Lady Lions led 18-10 in the third set but let the Scotties hang around and get to 22-18 before Piedmont finished the job 25-18. 

BRIANNA KING continues to lead Piedmont as she had eight kills in the match. Piedmont had eight student-athletes record a kill in the contest. 

Up next, Piedmont hosts Covenant for a doubleheader inside Cave Arena Saturday beginning at 1 p.m.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
--Piedmont had 16 aces in the contest led by SARA DICARLO adding six. 

STANDOUT PERFORMANCES:
--TAYLOR BROWN led Piedmont with 11 assists while BROOKLYN GUNN added nine.
