Women's Tennis Blanks Pfeiffer for Seventh Straight Victory

MISENHEIMER, N.C. - The Piedmont women's tennis team delivered its seventh consecutive win, shutting out Pfeiffer, 9-0, on the road Sunday afternoon.

The Lady Lions dominated from start-to-finish, only dropping a single game over three doubles matches and rolling to straight-set wins in all six singles matches.

PC began the festivities as the doubles team of KARA LANDSIEDEL and ABBEY GRACE VENHAM rolled to an 8-0 win at No. 3 before MEGAN WALDHEIM and MAGGIE MOODY did the same at No. 1.

The domination continued as the No. 2 team of IMANI VINCENT and MELISSA GISH rolled to an 8-1 win at No. 2.

With a 3-0 lead heading to singles play, the Lady Lions made quick work of the Falcons and clinched the match at 5-0. Waldheim finished first with a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 2 before Vincent was nearly perfect with a 6-0, 6-1 win to clinch the win at No. 1.

Playing out the rest of the matches, the Lady Lions received easy two-set wins from Venham (6-2, 6-2), Moody (6-0, 6-2), Gish (6-1, 6-1) and RACHEL MARSH (6-0, 6-0).

Up next, the Lady Lions will battle Covenant in USA South action next Saturday, March 27 at 2 p.m.
