LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. - The Piedmont women's tennis team continued its domination of the USA South on Friday evening, rolling to an 8-1 win at Covenant.

With the win, the Lady Lions have won eight consecutive matches and have dropped just nine total lines over those matches. In their four conference wins, Piedmont has lost just three total lines.

PC began the afternoon with a pair of easy wins at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles as IMANI VINCENT and MELISSA GISH rolled 8-1 before ABBEY GRACE VENHAM and KARA LANDSIEDEL did the same. However, the Scots were able to avoid the doubles sweep with an 8-6 win at No. 1 from Madelyn Savage and Gillian Bosko.

With a 2-1 lead heading to singles, it did not take Piedmont long to reestablish control of the match, taking all six matches in two sets for the singles sweep.

Venham finished her match first, a 6-2, 6-1 triumph at No. 3 before reigning USA South Player of the Week Vincent won 6-0, 6-2 at No. 1 to put the Lady Lions within a point of the clinch.

That came in the form of MEGAN WALDHEIM's 7-5, 6-3 victory at No. 2 singles, overcoming a hard-fought first set to allow PC to clinch at 5-1.

From there, the Lady Lions dominated the rest of the way with MAGGIE MOODY (6-1, 6-3), Landsiedel (6-1, 6-3) and Gish (6-0, 6-0) closing things out.

Next up, Piedmont will return home to host Huntingdon in USA South action this Saturday, April 3 at 10 a.m.
