Women's Soccer Faces Lynchburg on the Road

NEED TO KNOW:

LYNCHBURG, Va. - The Piedmont women's soccer team dropped a tough 4-1 decision at Lynchburg Friday. The Hornets added a pair of goals in each half to stretch past the Lady Lions. 

It was the Hornets who struck first with a goal in the 34th minute as Amanda Wigboldy capitalized on a ball played by Lindsey Grady. Lynchburg would cement a 2-0 lead heading into the half with a goal by Megan Dee in the 44th minute. 

KAYLEE KING put one away for the Lady Lions in the 66th minute working her way up the right side of the field and arching one in over the keeper from the top corner of the box. 

The Hornets were able to net two more in the 78th and 86th minutes. 

MIRANDA MCNALLEY made the start in goal for Piedmont recording two saves. 

Up next, the Lady Lions remain on the road taking on Southern Virginia Saturday at 1 p.m.

TURNING POINT:
--The Hornets added a pair of goals in the second half to seal the victory. 

STANDOUT PERFORMANCES:
--KAYLEE KING added the lone goal for the Lady Lions giving her two goals on the season.
