Lions Dominate Panthers in Rematch 5-2

DEMOREST, Ga. – The Piedmont College's men's soccer team once again put on a show inside the friendly confines of Walker Athletic Complex with a 5-2 win over Birmingham-Southern Wednesday. 
 
The Lions were quickly working from behind as BSC netted the first goal of the game in the 3rd minute as Coleman Jennings added another to his season total. Jennings had accounted for all four BSC goals to that point. 

Piedmont was able to answer within the first 10:00 of the contest with a header by CAMERON EARLS in the 9th minute off a free kick by EVAN SAYLOR. Saylor was busy Wednesday with four assists accounting for all of Piedmont's assists in the game. 
 
IAN ADDISON was next on the board for Piedmont finishing off a Saylor cross in the bottom right corner of the net to give the Lions their first lead of the night. Addison would add another in the 44th minute with a header off a corner once again served in by Saylor. 

The Lions led 3-1 at the break and it was CAMERON EARLS who scored the fourth goal of the night for Piedmont in the 53rd minute giving Earls and Addison both two goals in the contest. 

It was a pair of penalty kicks that added the final goals for each side as BSC added one in the 87th minute and Piedmont tacked one on late in the final minute with OWEN GATES scoring his first goal as a Lion. 

CAMERON VERONA tallied six saves allowing just one goal on 17 shots. The Lions had 16 shots with nine on frame. 
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
-EVAN SAYLOR accounted for all four of Piedmont's assists on the night giving him his first four assists of his career at Piedmont. 
 
UP NEXT:
- Piedmont returns to action quickly as the head out to face Pfeiffer Thursday at 4 p.m. in North Carolina.
