DEMOREST, Ga. - The Piedmont women's basketball team rolled past Agnes Scott, 87-22, on Friday night at Cave Arena.
The win gives the Lady Lions (10-3, 8-0 USA South) eight consecutive victories to begin their conference slate.
Piedmont used a balanced scoring attack with five players in double figures as all 10 who played in the game scored at least one point.
Freshman
CARA CRUMP led the way with a career-best 16 points on 6-of-8 from the field and 3-of-3 from beyond the arc. Freshman
BENTLEY CRONIC delivered a season-high 14 points while
ALEXIS WARE (11) and
LAUREN SWANSON (11) joined in double figures, also producing season bests.
COLBY REED rounded out the double-figure scorers with 10 points.
For the third consecutive game, the Lady Lions led wire-to-wire, leading 19-3 at the end of the first quarter and holding the Scotties (0-12, 0-12 USA South) to eight points in the first half.
Piedmont had 21 assists against 19 turnovers and scored 42 points off 43 Agnes Scott turnovers.
Freshman guard
COURTNEY CATES delivered a game-high six assists in 25 minutes off the bench.
Up next, the Lady Lions and Scotties will play again tomorrow, this time in Decatur at 2 p.m.
