BREVARD, N.C. – The Piedmont women's basketball team continued its winning ways with an 85-60 Tuesday night road rout at Brevard.

The Lady Lions (9-3, 7-0 USA South) led wire-to-wire and built a double-digit lead in the game's opening minutes, never looking back on the way to their seventh consecutive win by 10 or more points.

Reigning USA South Player of the Week
NAKIYAH WASHINGTON was one of two Lady Lions to reach 20 points, scoring 23 to go with nine rebounds, five assists and four steals.

She was joined in the 23-point club by
LIVIA SKINNER, who connected on a season-best five three-pointers while adding five assists. The duo was joined in double figures by
HOPE FRANKLIN, who poured in 17 points and seven rebounds, and
LU WOOLFOLK, who showcased her all-around skillset with 11 points, eight assists and seven rebounds.

Piedmont roared out of the gate with a 12-2 run in the opening two-plus minutes, capped off by a Woolfolk three-pointer. However, the Tornados (1-5, 1-5 USA South) answered back with a 13-6 run of their own to cut the margin to 18-15 midway through the opening quarter.

Brevard never got any closer than that three-point margin the entire way as PC led by six going to the second and continued to extend its lead from there.

The Lady Lions opened the second quarter on an 8-0 run to build a comfortable margin they held the rest of the way. PC led by 12 at the break after Skinner's three-pointer in the final seconds of the half.

The second half brought more of the same as Piedmont continued to execute at the offensive with a game-high 23 points in the third.

Piedmont pushed its lead to as many as 27 points late in the fourth quarter as Brevard had no answers on the defensive end.

The Lady Lions held a 39-29 rebounding advantage and scored 32 points off 24 Brevard turnovers.

Up next, the Lady Lions are scheduled to host Agnes Scott this Friday, Feb. 19 at 7 p.m.

- Piedmont set the tone early, roaring out of the locker room with a 12-2 run over the first two-plus minutes of the contest.

STANDOUT PERFORMANCES:
- Washington: 23 points, nine rebounds, five steals, four assists
            - Third straight game with at least five steals.
- Skinner: 23 points, season-high five three-pointers, tied season high of five assists for fifth time this season.
- Franklin: 17 points, seven rebounds, 5-of-7 from the foul line
- Woolfolk: Gave a triple-double a scare; 11 points, eight assists, seven rebounds

NEWS AND NOTES:
- The win marks the second time in the last three seasons the Lady Lions have started USA South play with seven consecutive wins. They won 11 straight to begin the 2018-19 campaign.
