KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Piedmont women's soccer's KAYLEE KING and KATELYN SMITH were selected to the United Soccer Coaches All-Region Third Team, the organization announced Monday afternoon.

This marks the program's first All-Region selections since 2018, when Cassdy Reich and Natalie Munoz received honors.'  
The junior midfielder from Loganville, Georgia continued to develop her game in her third season with the Lady Lions, delivering a team-high 15 points on five goals and five assists, which also led the squad. After her outstanding season, she was rewarded with All-USA South First Team and All-West Division First Team honors for the first time in her career. However, King saved her most dramatic performance for the postseason, scoring the game-winning goal in Piedmont's 1-0 USA South Tournament Semifinal win over Maryville on a rocket from over 30 yards out. King had a streak of three consecutive conference games with an assist and helped lead the Lady Lions to their first outright regular season USA South West Division Title in program history.
 
Smith caps her phenomenal Piedmont career with her first All-Region honors. The senior defender from Alpharetta was rock solid on the back line this season for the Lady Lions, helping the team to 13 shutouts in 22 total contests. Smith earned All-Conference honors for the second straight season, taking All-West Division Second Team honors this fall. Smith also contributed offensively, with a pair of goals, both coming on penalty kicks. Her two goals came in wins against Averett and Berea.
