Women’s Tennis Takes Third in a Row with 9-0 Monday Sweep of SUNY Oneonta

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Piedmont women's tennis team extended its winning streak to three with a 9-0 sweep of SUNY Oneonta on Monday in Orlando.
 
The Lady Lions (7-2) swept the three doubles matches and took care of each singles line in straight sets on their way to a second consecutive shutout.
 
After KARA LANDSIEDEL and MAGGIE MOODY did not drop a game at No. 3 doubles, CAROLINE CONNELLY and MEGAN WALDHEIM won, 8-3, at No. 1. Then, at No. 2, IMANI VINCENT and SAMANTHA LOWRY eked out an 8-6 win to keep the shutout alive.
 
Piedmont was barely pushed in singles as all matches ended in two sets, including a 6-0, 6-0 victory for MORGAN BUCHHOLZ at No. 6.
 
Lowry was forced to a tiebreaker at No. 5 but prevailed, 7-4, in the breaker and rolled to a 6-1 win in the second to clinch the sweep.
 
The Lady Lions will be back on the courts late Monday night against Morningside before playing two morning matches tomorrow against Carthage and Shippensburg.
