ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. – The Piedmont women's tennis team continued its strong play on Tuesday afternoon, cruising past Carthage, 8-1, at the Sanlando Tennis Center.
The Lady Lions took two out of three doubles matches and swept all six singles lines on their way to a fifth consecutive victory in Orlando.
Carthage was able to put the first point on the board with an 8-4 win at No. 1 doubles, but it was all PC from there, as the Lady Lions rolled to a pair of doubles wins to retake the lead.
Singles play was a dominant display from Piedmont as it finished all six matches in straight sets.
CAROLINE CONNELLY outlasted Giana Apostoli, 7-5, in the first set before cruising 6-2 to win the match.
MAGGIE MOODY clinched the win for Piedmont with a 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 4 singles.
Up next, the Lady Lions will take on Shippensburg at 6:30 p.m. on Monday night before having the day off Wednesday.
