Avery Jenks, Zach Czulada Earn USA South Weekly Honors

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – Piedmont men's lacrosse saw two players earn USA South weekly honors, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
 
Sophomore attackman AVERY JENKS earned Player of the Week while goalie ZACH CZULADA took home Defensive Player of the Week as Piedmont split its opening two games to begin the season.
 
Jenks totaled 11 points on seven goals and four assists for the week while adding six ground balls and a pair of caused turnovers.
 
The Peachtree City, Georgia native opened the season with a three-goal, two-assist performance as the Lions rolled past Oglethorpe, 15-4, in their season opener. He followed that performance with another hat trick on Saturday against Guilford, scoring four times with two more assists.
 
Czulada made 22 saves for the week while allowing just 12 goals in 103 total minutes. The senior from Boca Raton, Florida played 43 minutes in Piedmont's win over Oglethorpe, allowing just one goal and making four saves. He ended the week with an 18-save performance to go with three ground balls in the one-goal loss to Guilford.
 
The Lions return to action this Thursday, Feb. 20 at 7 p.m. against Birmingham-Southern in Demorest.
