DEMOREST, Ga. – The Piedmont College women's basketball team forced 39 turnovers and had a school-record 30 steals in a 73-42 rout of Agnes Scott on Tuesday night at Cave Arena.

The Lady Lions (13-8, 9-3 USA South) only had one player in double figures, but 15 different players scored as they held a comfortable lead for much of the contest.

Piedmont totaled 30 steals for the night, breaking the previous record of 27 set in 2013 against Toccoa Falls.

EMILY WILEY led with 10 points while AMARI PRICE picked up eight points and dished out four assists in just 14 minutes of action.

The Scotties (0-20, 0-11 USA South) scored the first points of the game on a Garis Grant jumper, but Piedmont answered back on the next possession to tie the game at 2 apiece. Less than a minute later, a Wiley three-pointer gave PC a lead it never surrendered the rest of the way.

After the Lady Lions closed the first quarter on a 10-2 run, Agnes Scott scored three straight points to cut its deficit back to single digits. However, Piedmont immediately responded by scoring the game's next 11 points to build its first 20-point edge of the evening.

Already with a 25-point lead at the break, the Lady Lions held the Scotties to just nine third-quarter points to extend their lead to 30 points.

The Scotties totaled a game-high 15 points in the final period, but the deficit was much too steep to overcome as PC delivered its fifth consecutive victory.

Up next, the Lady Lions will break for a week before hosting Maryville next Tuesday, Feb. 4 inside Cave Arena at 6 p.m.
