DECATUR, Ga. – The Piedmont College women's basketball team led wire-to-wire in its 73-35 conference victory over Agnes Scott Friday. A dominant 16-0 start to the game set the tone for the contest and the Lady Lions coasted to victory. 

Piedmont's starters played the first five minutes then gave way to several underclassmen including KYLA MICHIENZI and MARIA ALLOCCO who combined for the final 12 points to end the quarter. Piedmont led 23-2 after the first period, but the second quarter saw the Scotties come alive with Piedmont outscoring Agnes Scott by just two points 17-15.

The Lady Lions led 40-17 at the break and held the Scotties to just nine points in both the third and fourth quarters. Nineteen student-athletes saw action for Piedmont with 15 players scoring. 

NAKIYAH WASHINGTON led Piedmont with 10 points while Michienzi and SARA BETH HANSARD added nine points each. No Piedmont player had more than four rebounds as it was a complete team effort Friday.
 
Up next, the Lady Lions will return home to face Brevard College Wednesday, January 22 at 6 p.m.

--Piedmont took a commanding lead in the opening quarter with a 23-2 lead after the first period. 
 
STANDOUT PERFORMANCES:
--NAKIYAH WASHINGTON led Piedmont with 10 points in just 10 minutes of play. 
--In total, 15 of 19 players who saw the court scored on Friday.
