DEMOREST, Ga. – REID JOHNSON scored in the 71st minute to lead the Piedmont College women's soccer team to a 1-0 win over Mount St. Joseph University on Saturday in a non-conference matchup at the Walker Athletic Complex.

After a Mount St. Joseph (1-3-1) goal kick sailed out of bounds, Piedmont played the throw-in backwards before AVERY PERRY split a pair of defenders for a through-ball.

Perry's pass to Johnson was deflected, but Johnson gathered the ball and delivered a strike form left-center of the box to the top-right of the goal. In the last two games, Johnson has scored three goals.

The first half was a balanced effort by both teams, as Piedmont (5-2-0) led 7-5 in shots. Of those seven shots, four were on goal.

The Lady Lions geared up the offense in the second, outshooting the Mount, 12-6, with four shots on goal.

The Piedmont defense gave up 11 total shots, but zero were on target. MIRANDA MCNALLEY played all 90 minutes in the goal.

ANSLYN STAMPS led all players with four shots, two being on target.
