CLEMSON, S.C. – The Piedmont College women's tennis team closed out its regular season slate with a 9-0 sweep of LaGrange at the Hoke Sloan Tennis Center in Clemson, South Carolina.
Due to inclement weather in Demorest, the match was moved indoors. However, it did not faze the Lady Lions (17-4), who rolled to a 3-0 doubles sweep and cruised to six two-set wins in singles, including three in which they did not drop a single game.
TAYLOR SORRELLS and
SAVANNA KENNEDY got the match started off for Piedmont, securing their second doubles win as partners this season at No. 3. Playing just their third match together this season, the No. 1 doubles team of
MEGAN WALDHEIM and
CAROLINE CONNELLY followed with an 8-4 win at No. 1.
MAGGIE MOODY and
MORGAN BUCHHOLZ closed out the doubles sweep, winning 8-4 as well in their first match paired together this season.
