FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. – The Piedmont College women's tennis team concluded its regular season with a 7-0 loss to Division II foe Emmanuel on Tuesday afternoon in Franklin Springs, Georgia.
The Lady Lions (17-5) dropped all three doubles matches and were unable to pick up a line in singles on their way to the shutout loss.
Playing by Division II rules with the match at Emmanuel (13-10), Piedmont dropped two of the three doubles matches, 6-1, to give itself an early deficit.
Emmanuel was able to continue the momentum into singles action, winning the first four singles matches in straight sets.
The loss was just Piedmont's fifth of its record-breaking regular season, and its second to a Division II opponent.
Up next, the Lady Lions will take on Meredith in the USA South Tournament Quarterfinals on Friday, April 26 at 12:30 p.m.
