BREVARD, N.C. – The Piedmont College women's tennis team took down Brevard, 7-2, to finish its USA South regular season campaign at 8-0 and clinch the West Division regular season championship for the second straight year.

The Lady Lions (16-4, 8-0 USA South) took two out of three doubles lines and five of the six singles matches to hand Brevard (12-6, 6-2 USA South) just its second USA South defeat, both at the hands of Piedmont.

The outstanding season for the No. 3 doubles team of KARA LANDSIEDEL and CRYSALIN GLORIA continued as the duo rolled to an 8-1 victory at No. 3 doubles. Moments later, CAROLINE CONNELLY and MAGGIE MOODY clinched at No. 2 with an 8-2 victory before the Tornados rallied to take the match at No. 1.

Moody quickly dispatched Margaret Correll, 6-0, 6-1 at No. 5 singles to give PC a 3-1 advantage.

After Landsiedel rolled to a quick two-set win at No. 4, MEGAN WALDHEIM delivered the clinching win, a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 3.

From there, Piedmont took two of the three remaining matches, with MORGAN BUCHHOLZ closing out the conference season for PC in style, taking a third-set match tiebreaker, 10-8, to give the Lady Lions the 7-2 victory.

The win ensures Piedmont's second-straight undefeated season in the USA South and earns them the No. 1 seed for the USA South Tournament.

Up next, the Lady Lions are scheduled to close out their regular season by hosting LaGrange at 2 p.m. this Friday, April 19.
