DEMOREST, Ga. – The Piedmont College women's tennis team continued its dominant play on Tuesday afternoon with a 9-0 sweep over Covenant at the Burgen Tennis Courts.
 
The Lady Lions (12-1, 4-0 USA South) only dropped a single game in doubles action, with No. 2 and No. 3 doubles rolling to 8-0 victories for the third straight match.
 
After MORGAN BUCHHOLZ and MEGAN WALDHEIM finished off an 8-1 win at No. 1, Piedmont held a 3-0 lead heading into singles play.
 
The dominance continued in singles, with PC taking all six matches in two sets, only dropping seven total games in the process.
 
Buchholz clinched the first singles point for the Lady Lions with her 6-0, 6-1 victory at No. 2. Minutes later, Waldheim clinched the match with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 3.
 
CAROLINE CONNELLY rolled to a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles before KARA LANDSIEDEL and MAGGIE MOODY each did not drop a set on their way to dominant wins at No. 5 and No. 4.
 
LILY MCNEEL closed out the contest with a 6-1, 6-3 win at No. 6.
 
STANDOUT PERFORMANCES:
- Moody's win at No. 4 singles improved her record to a perfect 12-0 for the season. She has won three of those matches without dropping a set, including her 6-0, 6-0 win on Tuesday.
- The win marks Piedmont's fourth consecutive 9-0 sweep in USA South play.
