DEMOREST, Ga. – The Piedmont College baseball team was unable to muster anything offensively to keep pace with LaGrange as the Panthers took the series 2-1 with an 8-2 win Sunday. 

It was quiet through the first two innings, but the Panthers got the scoring started in the top of the third. LaGrange used small ball with just a pair of singles in the inning to plate the run and lead 1-0.

Piedmont's most promising opportunity came in the bottom of the third as they loaded the bases with one out, but they were unable to capitalize. 

TYLER BURDETTE hit a solo shot to right in the sixth inning followed by a BRADY BALLSTADT sac fly in the seventh. 

LaGrange managed eight runs on 17 hits and one error as starter MAX BENING took the loss. 

TURNING POINT:
- LaGrange scored in every inning from the third through the eighth to take control of the contest. 
 
STANDOUT PERFORMANCES:
- The Panthers recorded 17 hits in the game with a pair of players posting 3-hit performances. 
- WES SNYDER and ZACHARY SWINDELL both had two hits for the Lions. 
 
NEWS AND NOTES:
- The loss marks the first series loss for the Lions this year as they move to 8-3 in conference play.
