DEMOREST, Ga. – The Piedmont College men's basketball team pulled away from Greensboro in the second half to win, 72-56, on Friday night at Cave Arena.

In a game that progressed much like the team's 10-point win over Brevard on Tuesday night, Piedmont (5-18, 4-12 USA South) used an early second-half run to create double-digit separation and held a sizeable lead the rest of the way.

MILES RILEY recorded his first double-double of the season and came close to a triple-double, scoring 13 points to go with 10 rebounds and eight assists. Senior MARQUISE LANIER added a team-high 17 points and a career-high 13 rebounds on the way to his first double-double of the season.

Both teams struggled offensively in the first half, but the Lions took a 30-28 lead into the locker room due to a strong defensive effort. PC held the Pride (2-20, 1-13 USA South) to just 31 percent shooting. However, Greensboro poured in six three-pointers while Piedmont went 0-for-7 from downtown in the first half.

On PC's first second-half possession, JORDAN FOOTE found the back of the net from deep, which started a 20-12 Piedmont run over the first six minutes of the half to give the Lions a 12-point lead.

From there, Piedmont led by double-digits the rest of the way, thanks to three second-half three-pointers from Lanier.

Up next, the Lions will take on Covenant tomorrow at 4 p.m. Prior to the game, seniors Tarik Abdulgader, MARQUISE LANIER and TAYLOR MILLS will be honored for their contributions to the program.
