GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Piedmont College women's soccer team closed out its regular season with a 1-0 win at Bob Jones University on Monday night.
Tied 0-0 after halftime,
AMANDA WEINHART scored in the 58th minute off a brilliant assist from
CASSIE KIRK to give Piedmont (13-6-1) a 1-0 lead.
The Lady Lions were able to hold the lead for the remainder of the game to give Piedmont its 12th straight season with 13 wins or more.
Despite being outshot 21-11, the Lady Lions were able to walk away with the win as
MIRANDA MCNALLEY stopped 11 shots in 90 minutes of play.
Piedmont opens the USA South Athletic Conference tournament on Wednesday with a home match against Wesleyan College at 4 p.m. The Lady Lions enter the tournament as the No. 3 seed while Wesleyan is the No. 6 seed.
