MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Piedmont College women's soccer team captured a 1-0 road victory at Huntingdon on Friday night in Montgomery, Alabama.

The Lady Lions (12-6-1, 6-2 USA South) received a 17th minute goal from ANSLYN STAMPS off a free kick and made it stand up the rest of the way to close out their conference slate with a shutout.

The first half was mostly a defensive battle, with both sides struggling to generate much offense as the Lady Lions held a 6-5 shot advantage. However, PC made its count, as Stamps' fourth goal of the season gave Piedmont the lead heading into the break.

Holding a 1-0 lead into the second half, the Lady Lions survived a few close chances from the Hawks (5-9-2, 4-3-1 USA South). Huntingdon's Alexis Louk hit the crossbar with a shot in the second minute of the second half before Lindsay Paskman did the same with less than 10 minutes to play.

Piedmont goalkeeper MIRANDA MCNALLEY made two saves in the seconds half, with her final save coming in the game's final 30 seconds to seal the win for the Lady Lions.

Up next, Piedmont will travel to Bob Jones on Monday, Oct. 28 for its final tune up before the USA South Tournament begins on Wednesday, Oct. 30.

TURNING POINT:
- Stamps' 30-yard free kick strike turned out to be the only offense the Lady Lions needed in the 1-0 victory.

STANDOUT PERFORMANCE:

- The goal also gave Stamps her second game-winner of the campaign.

- PC was also held to just three corner kicks for the night.
