BREVARD, N.C. – Freshman KAYLEE KING converted a penalty kick midway through the first half to lift the Piedmont women's soccer team to a 1-0 victory at Brevard College in Tuesday's USA South Athletic Conference matchup.

Piedmont (7-4-1, 2-0-0 USA South) opened the game with five shots in the first 19 minutes before a Brevard (1-6-2, 0-2-0 USA South) penalty inside the 18-yard box gave the Lady Lions an excellent scoring opportunity.

King would convert the kick in the 20th minute as Piedmont went on to hold the one-score lead for the remainder of the match.

The Lady Lions dominated Brevard in the box score, outshooting the Tornados 22-3 and posted a 13-0 advantage on corner kicks.

Six players recorded at least two shots for Piedmont, while six players combined for the eight shots on goal.

Junior keeper MIRANDA MCNALLEY made two saves in the win and pushes her record to 7-4 on the year.
