MACON, Ga. – The Piedmont College women's basketball team rebounded from its first USA South defeat with an 83-15 rout at Wesleyan on Wednesday night in Macon.

The Lady Lions (18-4, 12-1 USA South) took control of the contest late in the first quarter and never looked back on their way to the 68-point victory.

KARLA CANTRELL led Piedmont with career highs in points (17) and assists (four) while
ABBEY CRAVEN recorded her first career double-double, tallying 14 points and 10 rebounds.
BRITTANY DEVANE added 13 rebounds, her new career high.

After the Wolves (0-21 0-12 USA South) led briefly at 5-3 early in the first quarter, the Lady Lions ended the period on a 16-0 run to take a 16-point lead into the second quarter.

Piedmont continued to extend its lead, outscoring Wesleyan, 19-4, in the second quarter. The Lady Lions shared the ball well, recording 12 assists to just four turnovers in the first half.

The Lady Lions shut down the Wolves offense in the second half, allowing just four points on their way to the dominant victory.

Up next, PC returns home to face Covenant this Friday at 6 p.m.

- With the game tied at 7-7 midway through the first quarter, Piedmont scored the final 16 points of the period and never looked back on its way to the 68-point win.
