MARYVILLE, Tenn. - The Piedmont men's basketball team dropped its mid-week USA South matchup against Maryville College 83-56 on Wednesday afternoon. 

Piedmont jumped out to a 10-7 lead, but Maryville used a 25-6 run to take a 32-16 lead with over five minutes to play in the first half and led 42-24 at the break. 

The second half mirrored the first as Piedmont failed to pull within 17 points. 

MARQUISE LANIER and JORDAN FOOTE each had double digit points while JUSTIN QUICK led the team with nine rebounds. 

Maryville finished 9-of-19 from the 3-point line while shooting 47 percent. 

Turning Point
-- Maryville used a 25-6 run in the first half and never looked back. 

Standout Performances
--MARQUISE LANIER led the Lions once again this season with 13 points. 

Inside the Box Score
--JORDAN FOOTE added 12 points off the bench to go along with four rebounds in 16 minutes of action. 

News & Notes
--Piedmont had more bench points than the Scots with 27 points off the bench to Maryville's 26. 

Up Next
--The Lions remain on the road this weekend taking on North Carolina Wesleyan Saturday at 2 p.m.
