DEMOREST, Ga. – The Piedmont College men's soccer team fell at home to Berry College, 2-0, on Tuesday night at Walker Athletic Complex.
The Vikings (3-0) jumped out in front with two quick goals and never looked back despite some late offensive pressure from the Lions (1-1).
Steven Moore scored his second and third goals of the season for Berry, with the first coming in the game's 10
th minute.
Just minutes later, Moore struck again as he finished from just in front of the net to put the Vikings up two goals in the early going.
After being held to just three shots in the first half, PC earned better looks in the second half with a 7-6 shot advantage.
Defender
NICK POPE played all 90 minutes and led the Lions with three shot attempts.
TURNING POINT
- Moore delivered two quick goals for the Vikings in a span of under four minutes early in the first half to put the Lions in an early hole.
UP NEXT
- The Lions head out on the road to open USA South play against Huntingdon College this Saturday, Sept. 8 at 3 p.m. Piedmont defeated the Hawks, 1-0, in Demorest in the only meeting between the two teams last season.
