DEMOREST, Ga. – The Piedmont college men's soccer team improved to 5-0 in the USA South with a 4-0 win over Berea College Saturday.
CAMERON EARLS' hat trick led the Lions as Earls now leads the league in goals scored with 11 this season.
The scoring started early for the Lions as Earls put Piedmont on the board in the 12' off an assist from
JOSE LINARES then followed it up with another strike less than a minute later off a
MATT CRUMBLEY assist. Crumbley would finish the day with a pair of assists.
Earls notched a hat trick with a header to the top right corner in the 60' having all three goals on the day for the Lions to that point.
ERNESTO PLATAS would join in with a goal in the 63' finding an open net after a deflection off the goalie.
BLAYTON DUNCAN faced 10 shots recording four saves to earn his first collegiate win.
The Lions are now 5-0 in conference play for the first time in the USA South and one win away from tying the most conference wins in a single season since joining the league in 2012.

--Earls' pair of strikes put Piedmont out in front early and set the tone for the contest.
STANDOUT PERFORMANCES
--
CAMERON EARLS recorded his second hat trick of the season with back-to-back goals in the first half and another strike in the 60'.
NEWS AND NOTES
--Piedmont's first two goals came within one minute of each other while the second pair of goals came within three minutes of each other.
--The Lions have outscored Berea 12-1 all-time.
