SARAH WEBER found a pass from
CASSIE KIRK to deliver the game winning goal for the Piedmont College women's soccer team in the 87th minute.
Both teams played to a scoreless tie in the first half with Piedmont (6-3-1, 2-0 USA South) dominating the shot advantage, 11-4. Covenant's (3-5-1. 1-1 USA South) Rachel Lemay made four first-half saves.
Sophomore goal keeper
MIRANDA MCNALLEY recorded two saves in the game, both coming in the first half.
The Scots stepped up on defense in the second half, limiting the Piedmont offense to just six shots before Weber found the back of the net for the game winner.
