DANVILLE, Ky. – The Piedmont College women's soccer team traveled to No. 20 Centre College on Sunday afternoon but fell 1-0 to the undefeated Colonels in rainy conditions.
Centre (9-0) entered Sunday's contest ranked 20th in the nation according to D3soccer.com and posted an 8-0 record prior the game.
Like Friday's game against No. 24 Emory, Piedmont (5-3-1) got off to a fast start as senior
CASSIDY REICH had two shots on goal in the first 5:12 with both being saved.
Less than 10 minutes later, Centre would begin to take offensive control and took their first of eight first-half shots.
Sophomore Goalkeeper
MIRANDA MCNALLEY had five saves in the opening 45 minutes and finished the game with nine saves and one goal allowed.
Just over five minutes into the second half, Centre broke the scoreless tie to pull ahead 1-0. The Colonels would manage four more shots, but failed to register one after the 60:35 mark.
Reich took all three of Piedmont's shots with two being on goal.
