WHITTIER, Calif. – The Piedmont College women's soccer team opened the 2018 season with a 0-0 double overtime draw against host college Whittier Friday evening.
Senior
CASSIDY REICH led the Lady Lions with four shots while classmate
SARAH WEBER and freshmen
KATELYN SMITH and
AMANDA WEINHART added one shot apiece.
Sophomore keeper
MIRANDA MCNALLEY recorded nine saves.
"I thought we were a little shaky to start the game," head coach Timmy McCormack said. "We need to finish our chances and come out better on Sunday."
Coach McCormack played 23 players including six freshmen.
Standout Performances
-- McNalley recorded nine saves in the tie with five coming in the second half and one in the first overtime.

-- This is the third straight season Piedmont has opened the season with an overtime game.
