LAGRANGE, Ga. – The Piedmont men's lacrosse team lost 10-9 in overtime on Saturday night to Methodist University in the semifinal round of the USA South Athletic Conference tournament.

Trailing 9-5 with just over 10 minutes left in the game, Piedmont scored three goals in less than five minutes to pull within one goal with 2:25 left on the clock.

The Lions would win the ensuing faceoff, but a turnover by Piedmont gave Methodist a chance to close the game out. With 22 seconds left, RILEY GRAHAM caused a turnover and scooped up a ground ball to find BRADY JENKS who split two defenders and outran another two defenders and scored with four seconds remaining, to tie the game 9-9 and force overtime.

The Monarchs won the opening faceoff in extra time and immediately called time out to setup their offensive possession. After a Piedmont turnover, Methodist fired off two shots in less than five seconds before the Monarchs scored the game winning goal a few seconds later.

ZACH CZULADA recorded 10 saves and had seven ground balls and two caused turnovers.

JEREMY KOHN had a game-high six points off of five goals and one assist while Jenks finished with two goals and one assist.

LAMONT NESBITT finished the game with 13 faceoff wins and six ground balls.

Methodist opened the game with a pair of goals before Kohn scored with 36 seconds left in the opening quarter. The Monarchs responded 26 seconds later and led 3-1.

SEAN KENNELL scored early in the second to cut the lead to one score, but a 3-0 run put Methodist ahead 6-2 with 5:06 remaining in the half. Kohn scored his second of the day with five seconds left in the first half to make the score 6-3 at the break.

Kohn then opened the second half with a Piedmont goal, but Methodist added a pir of goals and led 8-4 after three quarters. Both teams traded goals early in the fourth before Piedmont scored four unanswered.
