LAGRANGE, Ga. –  The Piedmont women's lacrosse team lost 21-3 to Meredith College in the USA South Athletic Conference championship game on Saturday.Â
The Avenging Angels, who are the five-time defending conference champions, built a 12-0 lead before
ROWAN BUMPASSÂ put Piedmont on the board with 6:39 left in the opening half.Â
Meredith would lead 15-1 at halftime and opened the second half with a 3-0 run.Â
Piedmont responded with a pair of goals from
EMMA FRANSEN and
CASSIDY HEFLINÂ with 18:41 remaining in the game.
Meredith would close the game with a 3-0 run.Â
ROWAN BUMPASS,
DOMONIQUE STEELE,
CASSIDY HEFLINÂ ,
MEGAN KOWALEC and
MATTIE KEATON were named to the 2018 USA South All-Tournament team.Â
Meredith's Holly Hite was named tournament MVP.Â
Keaton finished the game with 21 saves and totaled 41 saves in two games for Piedmont. Â
